Otoplasty

These are surgeries to be performed in cases of dissatisfaction with the shape and size of the ears and serious asymmetries between the two ears. Prominent ear aesthetics, ear reduction and earlobe aesthetics are frequently applied. Prominent ear is caused by the excessive angle between the head and the ear and the underdevelopment of the upper fold on the ear. It is recommended to be operated in pre-school childhood. In this way, it is ensured that it is not ridiculed and the child does not have self-confidence problems in school ages. The operation can be performed unilaterally or bilaterally. 

Before Surgery

Detailed medical history, patient examination, patient’s expectations, information about the surgery, pre-procedure photography are taken. 

Surgery

It can be performed under general or local anesthesia. The procedure takes 1-1.5 hours. A bandage dressing is applied.

After Surgery

Eating starts in the early period and the patient is mobilized after eating. The patient can be discharged on the same day or can stay in the hospital for 1 night. Bandages are removed on the 2nd day and bathing is allowed. Stitches dissolve spontaneously. A hair band is used for 3 weeks after surgery. You can return to work on the 5th-7th day. Light activities can be done after 2 to 3 weeks and heavy activities can be done after 1 month.
